HP Z240 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone. I own an HP Z240 Workstation with an i5 6600 with tpm 1.2 (Manufacturer's name: IFX). The operating system is Windows 10, the bios is updated to the latest version. Can you tell me if this pc is compatible with tpm 2.0? The link with compatible devices, for some reason, is no longer available on the hp website and I can't even install the tpm configuration utility. Thanks in advance to those who will help me.

first of all updating TPM to v2 will not make the z240 windows 11 compatible as the cpu family is unsupported and this can not be changed there are however methods to patch the win 11 installer to bypass the cpu/tpm checks one method is "rufus"

second installing tpm v2 will render older os's such as win 7 and earlier, incompatible

third updating the tpm, requires the correct update file from HP and following the INCLUDED directions EXACTLY, this is the most common reason the update fails as people fail to read how to do the update and simply try to run the update i recommend you extract the SPxxx file and then enter the folder and read the docs

Hi. Thanks for your reply and help. I'll try to follow your guide and inform you if i success to update it. By the way, I know the CPU doesn't support win 11 and i also know how to bypass win 11 requirements (even tpm 2.0), but the fact is that some programs or games (like Valorant), if installed on win 11, require tpm 2.0 to start and there is no way to bypass it. Anyway I have One last question: how did you obtain that link to the .exe and .html files? I couldn't find a guide or a list with compatibile devices anywhere.

i did "IT" support  (and sometimes still do) for many years  so it's second nature to know how/where to find things

mostly it's just a case of knowing HOW TO PHRASE A REQUEST IN A SEARCH ENGINE
