Hi expert out there,

I have hp thin client which is in kiosk mode (HP Easyshell) configured, user has only possibility to open few apps one of them is chrome browser.

To restrict user to open number of new tabs in chrome, for the testing in one of the client I have installed chrome extension called xTab where we can select how many tabs that user can have and other settings.

In one test client is working fine even UWF enabled, our setup has UWF write filter setting enable, of course first disabled then do changes in the system then enabled back.

My Problem is , when i am _Caputing Image from HP Device Manager from the above test client for purpose to roll out this image to multiple clients where chrome extension is included.

Image is successfully captured, but wen i install this captured image to other client, it seems installation works but when i open chrome browser and see extension, its not there and removed from both users like Admin and User. Even its not there in the test client after capturing the image.

Even i tried to excluded following file and registry,  install chrome extension capture image then deploy but again same story extension removed or no there.

C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data

Note:  Clients are not in domain, so group policy is not an option.

Please guide me how to install chrome extension in multiple clients via HPDM or create a image and roll out to others.

Solution is rename the Chrome Extensions folder where chrome basically store extension files.

Default:

C:/Users/user/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data/Default/Extensions

After renamed:

C:/Users/user/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data/Default/Eextensions
