Hp erica 8

Dear HP Support,

I own an HP motherboard Erica 8 (89D8) and currently use the original power supply unit (PSU) with part number L05757-800. I would like to know whether it is possible to replace this PSU with an alternative model, such as:

- L69242-800

- PCC002 (702307-002)

-  D10-240P1A (611481-001)

Additionally, I noticed that my current PSU has a 6-pin P2 connector that provides power to the motherboard (not to be confused with the 4-pin CPU power connector). Could you confirm whether the PSUs listed above have the same 6-pin P2 connector and are interchangeable?

I want to ensure compatibility before making any changes.

I appreciate your assistance and look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Dominic

@Domio33,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

You got one of the top power supplies (500-watt) available for your system, and you want to downgrade it to a 400 or 240-watt power supply? Please explain that to me.

The 702307-002 and 611481-001 are not compatible with your Erica8 motherboard.

Here are three meaningful power supply options:

400-watt: p/n: L04618-800 / 942332-001 / L69242-800

500-watt: p/n: L05757-800 / 901759-013

650-watt: p/n: L57253-003 / L36049-003

Kind Regards,

Dear Hp,

Thank you for your response and for providing compatible power supply options.

Unfortunately, my original L05757-800 (500W) power supply was damaged during a storm and is no longer functional. I am looking for a suitable replacement and considering the L69242-800 (400W) as an alternative.

Could you please confirm if the L69242-800 has the same 6-pin P2 motherboard power connector as my current L05757-800? I want to ensure that the connector is identical and that the PSU can be used interchangeably without issues.

Additionally, I suspect that my processor may have also been damaged. I have an older Ryzen 7 1700 stored in a drawer, and I was wondering if it would be compatible with the Erica 8 motherboard as a temporary replacement. Could you confirm whether this CPU will work?

I appreciate your help and look forward to your clarification.

Best regards,

Dominic

@Domio33,

I assume you mean: does the L69242-800 have the same "P27-pin 6-wire connector as my old L05757-800?

The answer is: even though the "P2" connector of the L69242-800 has the same size/model as the L05757-800, most available units have this 7-pin 3-wire configuration: empty, empty, empty, green, grey, empty, black, rather than: red, white, black, green, grey, empty, black.

Even though this wire config will work, it may generate 'POST' messages during power-on.

Meaning, I would recommend that you specifically look and confirm with a Seller to get one of the power supplies with a "P27-pin 6-wire connector.

Your Ryzen 7 1700 is not compatible with your motherboard.

Kind Regards,
