HP Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
My laptop currently has a password at log in which is very temperamental - sometimes I can log in other times nothing.
I have tried to disable the password so I can just go straight into windows but it doesn't seem to work
How can I disable the log in password

GOT IT TO WORK!!!!!!!!!!

I was like all here and wanted to disable the need for a password..i ran the suggested netplwiz got the box talked about in "Step 2– Now user accounts info window will pop up.  Now, select the user account for which you want to disable the password login. Now, uncheck the option which says user must enter a user name and password to use this computer.  Now, press OK or hit enter."

Well there were three entries for me to pick so i picked the second one and restarted my pc and got the password needed log in screen... got to thinking about it and ran the netplwiz again and picked the first one in the list and rebooted...

IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if this will help you or not, but it is worth a try.

@MrSteve1, welcome to the forum.

Here is how I logon automatically: Type netplwiz in Run / choose the Account that you want to use / uncheck the box in front of "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" / Apply.  Then, it will ask for a Password and Confirmation.  Once you do this reboot and it should logon automatically.

I have used this for years with all OS's.
