Product: HP Compaq LA2306x
I have an HP Envy and I just bought a HP Compaq LA2306x monitor today and an HDMI cord to be able to display my laptop on the Monitor but when I try to change the settings it only says DVI, or VGA as the sources for display....Will I need to buy an adapter?
Thanks

Hello,
It depends on what ports your Envy has. You didn't mention a model so I can't answer that question. From context, I can only assume it has an HDMI port.
As for your monitor, this is what it's capable of as far as input connectors go:
- (1) DVI-D cable
- (1) VGA cable
- (1) USB cable
No mention of HDMI there so yes, you will need an adaptor.
