Unfortunately, due to a software incompatibility, I have to downgrade the current GPU of the workstation
- 8 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
to a
- PNY VGC GeForce RTX 2060 Single FAN 6 Gb GDDR6 PCI x16
Can I replace the GPU in the workstation? Does the workstation have any SW/HW limitation that would not allow such change?

the risk of incompatibility is always possible
but given that you are with two really close models, this shouldn't be a problem.
the recommended power, for the 2060, is not higher, I imagine?
If the chosen model is not either, bigger then, it should be fine.
Sometimes there is just a problem of boot security

Hello
are you at least sure of that?
If a software works with an nvidia 2060, there is no reason why it should not work with a 3070 ..
What is your software, the problem encountered, the system requirements etc?

Hello Prométhéé, thanks for your answer.
Yes, I am sure, it's a specific framework from NVIDIA (DriveWorks) which only supports Turing GPU, but has no support for Ampere, so we are compelled to downgrade the GPU

huh?....care to describe just what software package will not run on a 3070 but will on a 2060
I've seen quadro vs non quadro driver issues and some software not running properly in SLI (but will work fine in non SLI)
and some driver revisions not working with some software but never what you have posted.
