I wonder why I never knew about the dust filters for Z4G4. Is not mentionned in manuals, nor somewhere else.
I have this computer for more than 2 years and today accidently I found out about this filters. Is not mentionned in manuals,
nor somewhere else.
However, last summer my pc had already troubles with overheating, so filtering incoming air would surely not improve
that problem.
I rather search for an improvement of the poor Chinese Ali Baba Foxconn in/out cooling fans, hoping that for next summer it
will not happen anymore.
I suppose the poor cooling capacity is the reason that HP makes no publicity for those expensive filter element.
What is more, they offer only 2 pieces, while there are 3 necesary. So if one mount the 2 available, the air would
search the easiest way at the bottom openings where nothing is provided.

I think this will be my final post..... your German document provides the option part number of 3DY47AA and that is for the two filters only, not the whole kit... "HP Z4 G4 - Staubfilter 3DY47AA"
You may not have found my post on how to order the whole kit directly from HP, HERE .

If you'd looked at the options you'd know this existed. Here it is in the manual, pages 18-19.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06134496
It's available as an option when you buy.
It is a 3-piece kit of the upper smaller and the lower larger filter elements plus, most importantly, the whole stock front bezel is replaced by a special different front bezel that magnetically attaches to the case and accepts those two front filter elements perfectly, tightly.
I found it very easily... and it was not that expensive for what I got.
Don't blame HP for you not looking at the options.

I can understand your point of view, but
In the Quick Specs it is not available.
In the Dutch manual for Z4G4: c05947810, which I have, there is no mention about these items. No scetches, no item nrs and just nothing. As you will understand, while fluently speaking and writing Dutch, German, French, English and a good mouthfull of Arabic, if a manual in my mothertongue exist, I will prefer to use that one. It seem now, that for one or another reason the booklets are indeed not the same. I look into the one you mentioned and indeed the item is there. Although without any reference number.
Just today I found out on the internet that in fact there are two items:
- Another bezel with magnets and a set of filters: HP 3DY48AA (L15658-001)
- A simple set of filters without anything else: HP 3DY47AA (L36410-001).
If I could send a p.m. then I could include the Dutch manual. but HP can control it by the given code.
Today I ordered the two items, only I am not sure that my HP agent has ever had any experience with these.
The whole story is that last summer I had a lot of heat connected troubles with this pc, while roomtemp. was around 33 degrees centigrade. Indeed I cleaned everything up and it was a bit better. Today, as I want to prepare for next summer, I studied the possibilities of improving cooling in the future. During research I found accidently a trace of these dust filters on this site.
However, there is the dilemma: Air filters are decreasing general airflow through the housing. At the other hand, I suppose that cleaning the filters is less work than seriously cleaning all sticking dust inside the housing on a lot of parts.

You are right that the Dutch Z4 G4 Maintenance and Service Guide is difficult to find. It is quite a bit larger in size than the User Guide you have. The cooling here has not been an issue, but if you are a pet lover 1/2 a cat may be in there already. Good luck on your cleaning project!

You found the manual Gebruikershandleiding in the Dutch language.
You need to find the manual Onderhouds- en servicegids in the Dutch language.
I'm sure it is not a conspiracy. Those are all here in the US...

In this one in English, the word "filter" is not existing:
Second Edition: March 2018
First Edition: December 2017
Document Part Number: L08560-002
nor in this one: 4AA7-2219ENW, February 2018
nor in this one: First Edition: December 2017
Document Part Number: L08560-001
As far as I could find out, only (doc 2019) in Germany this filters are known:
Thus the question remains. Personally, I have till now not any clue as how come that in spite I have this computer since begin 2018, I just learn nowadays the existing of the filtersystem.
Ok, I ordered the items yesterday but am reluctant when I will get them and the prices are even unknown.

I wish it had been easier for you. Our discussions should help others, but you are correct. This kit is not well enough promoted by HP. I went onto the HP ordering site here in the US just an hour ago. A number of the Z4 G4 workstations are presented there as pre-made packages. Others are available in the "build to order" (BTO) format. In that page if you navigate down to Accessories the bezel/filter kit upgrade is available. It was listed as a $50.00 option but when I clicked in the box that cost went away and below is what I got... it would be included for free now. The "memory cooling solution" in that list is also an item you may want if you don't have it already (option part number 1XM34AA):
I'm sure the BTO approach results in a time lag because the others are boxed up and ready to go. Here are the two pages from that service guide link I included in my first post above, plus a pic of the memory cooling option:
Please let us know how things turn out, and it would be great to add in a few pictures of your installation of them.
