So can you confirm that in a fall update the following will be included:

- Resolution

- Orientation

- Multiple display order / set maindisplay

- Dpi settings

(all the options that are in the settings page)

All working without admin priveliges or writefilter disable actions.

Next thing to put on the list:

Show battery indicator of the mobile thin client inside a Horizon View VDI Session (or citrix) for other customers.

We will work with MT44, USB-C Docks and 2x 24 inch screen. Flexible. So this is needed!

@ wdm-admin,

for the battery indicator we enabled to thinbar and battery status indicator within the easyshell registry config. 10% and 5% battery status is indicated now within a Citrix XenApp session.
Used config:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\HP\HP Easy Shell\UI]
"DisplayThinbar"="True"
"DisplayThinbarPermanent"="False"
"DisplayBatteryButton"="True"
"InteractBattery"="True"

@All

For the monitor config people can use MultiMonitor.exe (from NirSoft) to setup a monitor config XML that can be triggered by a command.  This will only allow you as admin to pre-configure monitor setups, this will not allow the user to set it up.

DPI is another challenge (not supported within MulitMonitor.exe) en should be hard set by registry with AutoDPIScaling disabled.

There is a possibility that with the right/wrong W10 Build and Citrix Receiver version corrupted external displays are generatated within Citrix based sessions. When you are in this situation below article will maybe help you

I will take a look at the display utility delivered by HP, this is a new one for me. Also when people struggle with the Mobile Broadband when Kiosk Mode is enabled, also for managing Mobile Broadband connections HP designed a utility (HPCellularNetwork.exe).

We have the same problem with Easy Shell version 3.5.13.0. The way through the local admin account to change the display properties is very tedious.

Is already foreseeable when there is a fix?

HP said the fall update. However they didn't specify the date. Really anxious for this. I've had to add their temp beta fix as an 'application', which still doesn't address the DPI issues & blanks out with 3 screens.

EasyShell 3.5.19.0 has the display settings updated, though it's the HP version and not the actual Win10 display settings. They're not as feature rich as the GUI when logged in to Win10.   Hopefully HP will update this to show DPI.

If you choose to use the Write Filter, the only one I found to work that saves the display settings after a reboot is the HPWF, after making some mods.

What worked for me is adding this to the list of Exclusions List in the HP Write Filter.  Reboot while the Write Filter is OFF to make sure the new exclusion saved:

C:\programData\Microsoft\Wlansvc\Profiles\Interfaces

depending on the machine, a registry exclusion may also need to be added:  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video

After the reboot and verifing the settings stuck, turn on HPWF, reboot, make a display change in the EasyShell and reboot again to see if those stay.  Good Luck!
