Product: HP Z2 Tower G9 Workstation Desktop PC (4Y0H8AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

Fan Detection Error. "912 - Incorrect CPU cooler installed for this config"

 

I get the above meesage on start up and fan is running at a very high speed. It is very noisy.

 

What to do?

this error happens when the processor is changed or the processor not match with power requirements.

Ray,

 

Have you changed the processor from what that workstation came with from the HP factory? If so, with what processor.

 

Second, have you changed the CPU heatsink or its fan from what came with it?
