HP 8200 Elite Ultra sff
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just bought HP 8200 Elite Ultra sff with Windows 10 installed.

I can log on to the Internet, but cannot log on to my Local Area Network.

I have a lot of experience sett up network systems, but this has got me baffled.

I already have a HP 8200 sff setup with Windows 10. My new one has that same BIOS number as this one.

I have reinstalled Windows 10 but this hasn't helped.

Can anybody help ne to recognise my LAN

Thank you very much to both responders.

Nothing has solved the problem

I have decided to abandon the computer and return it to the seller.

I have spent days trying to solve the problem to no avail.

Thank you,

John C

Hi:

I have two HP 8200 Elite CMT's and a HP 6200 Pro (uses same ethernet and BIOS) as the 8200 Elite, all running W10 just fine.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if the W10 ethernet driver from the Microsoft update catalog site resolves the problem.

Try the first driver listed.

Microsoft Update Catalog

If that doesn't work, you always have the option to use a USB wifi adapter, or a USB to RJ-45 ethernet adapter.

if you can not access a computer make sure that system is configured correctly to access local shares and check any routers for proper config and reset the computer's bios to factory defaults

Is Network Discovery switched on?
To configure Network discovery on Windows 10, follow the simple steps below:

Open the Settings app.
Select Network and Internet.
In the left panel, click either Wi-Fi or Ethernet (depending on your connection type).network and internet windows 10 unable to access shared folder
Under the Related Settings menu, click on Change advanced sharing options.change advanced sharing options windows 10 unable to access shared folder
Under Advanced options, check if the Make this PC discoverable option is enabled ( On). If it is not enabled (Off), simply enable it by toggling the button to On.turn on network discovery can't access shared folder
Then click on Save changes

Run the Shared Folder Troubleshooter
You can do that by following these steps:

Go to Settings. Locate and click on Update & Security.update & security windows 10 unable to access shared folder
Select Troubleshoot > Shared Folders
Follow the on-screen instructions to finish up the process
