HP Compaq 8000 Elite PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

This HP Compaq 8000 Elite PC SSL has been working well but when starting it one morning I get 5 beeps then the fan in the power suppy really starts to go very fast and very loud.  I have checked the beeps to being Ram and have changed the ram from another same machone and it makes no differnece it will not power up the fan in power supply  starts to get very very lound and thats it.

 

Nothing show on the monitor.

 

Could do with some advice please

Hi:

 

I would remove all of the original memory chips and test each one in the primary memory slot (the one closest to the processor) one at a time.

 

If the PC continues to beep, then the motherboard is shot.
