HP Compaq dx2400 Microtower PC
Microsoft Windows Vista

Hello,

I have a HP Compaq dx2400 Microtower PC with motherboard IPIBL-LB (Benicia) According to the below https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01324212

it works with Intel Core 2 Quad (Y) Q9xxxx

Is it means that it is compatible to all Q series: Q9650, Q9550, q9505, q9400 etc?

Is it works with other series of socket LGA775 like Q8400?

Also, i would like to ask if the motherboard can work with Xeon E5450.

Thanks,

Nick

HP only tested the q9550, but it should work with the lower q95xx models

no, there is no offical  xenon support for this model, however there is a hack that involves modding the socket and then applying a custom small circuit that rewires the cpu pins. you might aso have to modd the bios to add missing xenon microcode

Thanks for the information. I suppose it is not tested with extreme qxXXXX series, too. Some of those are above 1333mhz fsb which the maximum supported speed of benicia. If anyone have tested core 2 duo cpus please let me know.

this is not really the right forum to ask questions about using non supported hardware on your HP, you would have a better chance of a answer by posting on the modding forum link i provided you
