Hello,

I have a SAN with 4 working data storages, that are used by a HP Gen 7 Server. Now I want to add a Gen 9 Server to that SAN which shall have access to that data storages as well. For that, it has a H241 smart host bus adapter. In vspere, the server sees the disks with LUNs, correct size etc., but the data storage on that disks can't be added to the server. Did I buy the wrong adapter or does the server need to be manually mapped?

I've added some screenshots of vpshere explaining the issue:

Server sees the disks: ALGV6.png (761×210) (imgur.com)

... but can't add the data storage: AKeGQ.png (836×256) (imgur.com)

For comparison, the working data storage on the OTHER server: LrVbe.png (515×140) (imgur.com)

Hi:

HP split into two companies back in 2014.

HP supports PC's, printers, tablets and calculators.

HP Enterprise (HPE) supports Servers, switches, routers and enterprise storage devices.

You may want to post your question on the HPE community support forum -- Proliant servers section or MSA Storage section, whichever is more related to the issue you are having.
