A blinking white light on an HP EliteOne 800 G1 AIO
often indicates a system error, potentially related to RAM, CPU, or power supply issues
Troubleshooting Steps:
- 1. Basic Check:
- Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the AIO and the wall outlet.
- Try a different power outlet to rule out a faulty outlet.
- 2. Hard Reset:
- Unplug the power cord from the AIO.
- Press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
- Plug the power cord back in and try to power on.
- 3. CMOS Reset:
- Locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard (consult the service manual for your AIO model).
- Remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes (e.g., 5-10 minutes) and then reinsert it.
- Alternatively, you can use the power button to reset the CMOS. Unplug the power cord, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds, then plug the power cord back in and try to power on.
- Locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard (consult the service manual for your AIO model).
- 4. Isolate Components:
- RAM: Try booting with only one RAM stick at a time in each slot to see if the issue is with the RAM.
- CPU: If the CPU fan is not spinning, the CPU may have a problem, or the fan connection may be faulty.
- Power Supply: If possible, try a different, known-good power supply unit (PSU) to see if the PSU is the problem.
- Hard Drive: If you have multiple hard drives, try booting with only one to see if a faulty drive is the issue.
- RAM: Try booting with only one RAM stick at a time in each slot to see if the issue is with the RAM.
- 5. Check for Physical Issues:
- CPU and RAM: Ensure the CPU and RAM are properly seated in their respective slots.
- Monitor Connection: Verify the monitor cable is securely connected to both the AIO and the monitor.
- Internal Components: Inspect the AIO's internal components for any visible damage, such as burnt capacitors, bent pins, or loose connections.
- CPU and RAM: Ensure the CPU and RAM are properly seated in their respective slots.
- 6. Contact Support:
- If the issue persists after trying these steps, contact HP Support for further assistance, as it may indicate a more serious hardware failure. https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/ish_1997210-1528385-16
- If the issue persists after trying these steps, contact HP Support for further assistance, as it may indicate a more serious hardware failure.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
- RAM Issues:A faulty RAM module or loose connection can cause the blinking white light.
- CPU Issues:A faulty CPU, improperly seated CPU, or a problem with the CPU fan can cause the blinking white light.
- Power Supply Issues:A faulty power supply unit or insufficient power can prevent the AIO from booting.
- Motherboard Issues:A faulty motherboard component can also cause the blinking white light.
- CMOS Battery:A dead CMOS battery can cause the system to reset its configuration and trigger a blinking white light.
- Overheating:Overheating can cause the AIO to shut down and trigger the blinking white light.
- Software Issues:While less common, software issues can also cause the AIO to not boot, so you may need to check for software updates or boot into safe mode.
