Good afternoon,
We have a couple of HP T430 Thin Clients equipped with HP Easy Shell that we would like to utilize to provide a locked down experience for a few of our users. They only need to access the web versions of Outlook and Excel, as well as a proprietary web app.
We figured that the embedded Edge Browser accessible via Easy Shell would get the job done, allowing us to add the aforementioned as websites accessible via the embedded browser. However, the problem we are now facing is that the user accounts we would like to tie to these machines do not appear to automatically sign in. So, for example, you click the tile to open the Outlook website, and it redirects you to the Microsoft 365 home page where you can sign in. With Easy Shell turned off, the relevant accounts are already signed in and persisting across reboots in the regular Edge browser under the Windows account; it is only with the Easy Shell embedded version of Edge that these credentials do not appear to persist after reboots.
Is there any way to configure the embedded Edge Browser to do this? I have looked through the Easy Shell documentation and can't find a clear answer. Alternatively, taking the approach of these sites being launched as Edge Apps via Easy Shell may work, but these windows do not cleanly embed or go fullscreen without either preventing the end user from closing and switching to one of the other 'sites,' or they are able to access more browser controls than we want them to.
Hoping for any insight on the best approach here. Thank you!
