Good day people,
I have an HP Elite SFF 800 G9 which has an nVidia T400, allowing me to connect three monitors. I would like to install a second T400 to enable me to connect an additional three monitors. Is this a supported configuration? I could not find any definitive information on this on the HP site. The T400 is listed as "HP warranty safe. Does not void your warranty when installed in a compatible device", so I assume I can add a second one and still be covered by HP support. Is anyone able to confirm that this is the case?
Many thanks!

Good day people,
To follow up from my previous message, the DisplayPort FlexIO module arrived, and I installed it into the Elite SFF 800 G9. It works as expected, allowing me to connect three monitors to the onboard display adapter. With the three additional ports on the T400, I am able to connect a total of six monitors. No concerns about voiding the warranty by adding an additional graphics card this way. Hopefully this information will be of some use to others!

From what I have found, the HP Elite SFF 800 G9 cannot support two The NVIDIA® T400 cards. That card requires a PCI Express 3.0 x 16 slot, which the motherboard, listed as IMB-ADL-Q670, has only one such slot.
And, it probably can support additional monitors but not in the conventional method.
It really depends on what you are expecting to do with the additional monitors. You might be able to support additional monitors with a USB 3.2 docking station, but that is beyond my expertise to tell for sure. Best bet is to ask the business support team for that information.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my query. I already have an HP Elite SFF 800 G9 with two nVidia T400 cards installed, and it has been working well with six monitors. What I was trying to work out is whether HP actually support this configuration. I think you are right about asking the business support team for confirmation!

I am curious as to how there are two nVidia T400 cards installed, as there is only one PCI Express 4.0 x16. Is there an expansion slot for the other nVidia T400 card or just using the PCI Express 3.0 x16 (wired as x4)?
It might work with only the x4 slot but not at the desired performance.
Please explain the "I already have an HP Elite SFF 800 G9 with two nVidia T400 cards installed, and it has been working well with six monitors. " Since that was the question in the original post, I would like to learn how that was done.

Yes, the second T400 is installed into the PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot. I had not realised that it was wired as x4, as the performance does not seem to be affected. Given that this is a low end graphics card, I suppose that is not a surprise.
After spending some time examining the spec sheet for the Elite 800 G9 series systems, I also learned of the existence of the "HP DisplayPort Port FlexIO v2" (13L54AA) which should enable three DisplayPort monitors to be connected to the integrated graphics. Along with the three miniDP ports on the T400, this would give us the desired six monitors. It would also be cheaper and use less power than adding a second T400, with the benefit of being fully supported by HP.

OK. Well if it works to your satisfaction, then the only reason to use the HP DisplayPort Port FlexIO v2" (13L54AA) would be to get better performance. By the way, here is the spec page
https://www.hp.com/ng-en/products/accessories/product-details/product-specifications/38000123
It does not list the Elite 800 G9, only goes up to the HP EliteDesk 800 G6 SFF, no menmtion of the G9. Might need to do some more research.

In the QuickSpecs document for the Elite 800 G9 series (available here) there is a table listing the available I/O Devices and the compatibility with the different variants. The HP DisplayPort Port FlexIO v2 (13L54AA) is indicated as being compatible with the SFF variant of the Elite 800 G9 in this table. I have placed an order for an HP DisplayPort Port FlexIO v2 (13L54AA), so I will be able to test it myself soon. I will return to this thread to report my findings.
Also, I just realised that I've yet to thank you for your help with this subject. On that note, I am grateful for your support!
