HP HP EliteDesk 800 G2 BIOS Update fails

Update says it installed, reboots back to the old BIOS. Current version is 02.44, it has failed the same way starting with 02.47. I have around 70-80 of these PCs, and it's just 2 that are refusing to take the update.

It's a wild shot, but why don't you try to install BIOS version 02.58 Rev.A from HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Small Form Factor PC Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support as found here: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp141501-142000/sp141871.exe.

Normally I would first suggest trying a BIOS downgrade, in your case to the HP EliteDesk 800 G2 TWR/SFF System BIOS version 02.38, but I can't find it anywhere for download.

Before you try the 02.58 BIOS upgrade, perhaps @Paul_Tikkanen could shed some light on your issue, as he contributed to this related thread: Solved: upgraded 7th Generation cpu HP EliteDesk 800 G2 - HP Support Community - 7628838.
