HP ML310e Gen8 V2 – HOME LAB SETUP
Greetings,
I bought a second hand “HP ML310e Gen8 V2” in the United Arab Emirates for a Home Lab Setup. This is the first time I am using a server; hence I have a few issues / questions.
- I have managed to add 120GB SSD, additional 2GB RAM and HP Nvidia Quadro 2000 PCI Graphics Card With 1GB (Originally came with 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD and no VGA).
- I have installed Windows Server 2016 from USB using the BIOS utility.
- Downloaded all updates/drivers (not service packs) from HP websites, however most of them didn’t install due to - No hardware / driver found, etc.
Below are my questions:
- The fan in the back, makes a lot of noise, I don’t have ILO utility installed in Windows, the BIOS just shows “optimal cooling”.
- Since this is being used at home, it can’t make so much noise.
- I am considering changing the fan will this help.
- Is there any other solution to this problem?
- How do I install ILO and other windows utilities applications that come with the server?
- I have seen in some post that ILO shows each FAN speed, etc.
- To download Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP), I must Link warranties. Where do I get the Product serial number & Product number? I have tired difference combinations of below information I have, but I get the following error “This entitlement does not exist. Please review the entitlement identifier and make any necessary edits, or check the box to remove this item.”
- I have serial number from the invoice – CZXXXXXXXX.
- I have Model No, Part No, etc. from the sticker A inside.
- I have HP P/N 717XXX-001 from the sticker B inside.
- I have Regulatory Model Number TPS-W001 from the sticker C outside.
Thank you,
