Dear all,

I've bought a HP Prodesk 400 G3 mini type 1EX82EA#ABD and noticed that on the logicboard there is a M.2 connector holding an SSD of type Sandisk X300 M.2 2280 128GB, HP pn: 803217-001

But the system does not find it nor it is usable. I have to insert an 2.5 inch ssd to get something installed.

Is this know for this type of PC that it can not use the M.2 slot?

I've reset the bios, installed the latest version of the bios, disabled powersaving on the m.2 bus but nothing seems to help.

What can be the problem? It seems to be an SATA m.2 SSD, should it be an NVMe type?

Thanks in advance.

So did some testing, result: The SSD slot in the HP Prodesk 400 G3 mini is a M.2 NVMe slot only. Installing SATA based models wil not work. To bad the manual does not state anything about this.
