Hi HP!
In hp laptops documentation it is mention that
[Storage] Capacity [of the laptop is]
Hard drive
• Up to 1 TB (hard drive only)
• Up to 1 TB hard drive + up to 128 GB SSD
• Up to 512 GB (PCIe SSD)
Does this means,
• it is not possible to put a 2TB HDD in the laptop?
• an SSD bigger than 128 GB capacity wont work along with a 1TB HDD?
• an SSD bigger than 512 GB capacity wont work at all in this laptop?
If this is correct, why so? Is there any technical constraints?
ANS

Hi:
The drive capacities are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum possible storage capacity.
If you wanted to go with a 1 or 2 TB 2.5" SSD, that should be fine.

Hi HP;
In the documentation of my hp Pc : HP Compaq Pro 6300 Microtower PC
- Intel Core i3-2130 processor
The product specification (https://support.hp.com/hr-en/document/c03382665#AbT1 ) is listed as
Storage
- 120GB, SATA (with 3.5 in adapter)
- 128GB, SATA (with 3.5 in adapter)
This mean that the PC is not capable of SSD more than 128 GB because of CPU ADDRESSES Limitations.
HP: PLEASE STATE CLEARLY WHAT DOES IT MEANS

Hi:
This is a peer to peer forum. We do not work for HP.
The drive capacities are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum possible storage capacity.
If you want to go with a 1 TB 1 or 2 TB 2.5" drive, that should be fine.
I have the older HP 8200 Elite, and I installed a 500 GB WD Blue 2.5" SSD, and it works with no problem at all.
