Hello,
A client of mine has a old hp R5500 xr ups for their server rack, and we're getting the notice of a bad battery
The password to the web console wasn't document and the old IT tech is long gone.
I saw that it's possible to reset it via serial cable by resetting the HP UPS Management Module and having a serial cable in the bypass/config serial port, but i'm not able to get anything on my putty session
i'm using a cisco console cable, which I've confirmed is good with their fortigate rotuer. I've tried with both a ups to serial adapter and a direct serial connection from one of the servers.
session settings:
speed: 115200
data bits: 8
stopb its: 1
partiy: none
flow control: none
Anyone have any advice?

The manual says "CAUTION: Use only the computer interface cable supplied with the UPS to connect the communications port to the host computer." Or if you use HP USB to serial converter, the Bits per second: 9600.
I have a NIC card in ours, how do you fund the IP address?
