We have approximately 80 of the above-mentioned systems here. These are usually equipped with two Xeon Gold 6134 processors and 128GB RAM.

We have now received twenty additional machines (Xeon Gold 6234) on which no AMT settings can be configured in the BIOS. The Performance Advisor indicates that AMT is permanently disabled. A new BIOS update has no effect.

What can be done in this situation?

Best regards,

Dany

Hi @Dany4you

The AMT is an extension of the BIOS. To set a password, press CTRL+P when turning on the PC

How to deactivate Intel® AMT on an HP Laptop?

The AMT option is located in BIOS. Tap F10 at power on. Click Advanced>Remote Management Option, Enable AMT, go back to Main>Save changes and Exit. If the otion is greyed out, then the AMT option is probably disabled on the featurebyte level and there is no way to override it.

Hi  ATrujillo1,

As mentioned in the first post, the AMT setting cannot be found in the BIOS. Where it should be, there is only the check mark for ME.

Attached is a screenshot.

Did you follow the steps in my previous message?

Open Intel ME in Windows and check if you have Intel ATM events.

Then the option is disabled in the feature byte. There is no way to override that. You'll need to purchase a computer with the AMT option enabled.

I had never heard of this issue before but did know that some computing features are mandated to be disabled in some countries. So, I checked in with google:

"Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) is not "disabled" entirely in some countries, but its functionality, particularly regarding certain security features, is modified or limited to comply with specific national laws and regulations. For instance, the No TLS (Transport Layer Security) option for AMT configuration only applies in certain regions, including:

•China
•France
•Hong Kong
•Israel
•Korea
•Poland
•Russia

These limitations are in place due to local laws related to privacy and the ability for background processes (like remote management tools) to run transparently to the end user. Manufacturers like Dell provide guides that detail the specific management mode settings required for different regions to ensure compliance.

Intel AMT is a feature of Intel vPro technology that allows for remote management and security applications, often operating independently of the main operating system. "

HP does allow for a "CTO" Configure To Option build to have this feature set to disabled i've seen several non HP venders (and HP authorised resellers) selling grey market or  surplus systems they have acquired which have the "ATM" feature disabled by HP for sale in regions where you are legally allowed to use this feature

so my question is ........just how did the original poster acquire these systems? it appears they  possibly were not from a authorised HP reseller  or a authorised seller that bought them from a non HP source for resale (grey market)
