Hi Team,
I'm using "HP XW6400 Workstation" the PC is very slow and I thought of upgrading it by increasing "RAM" as it is a old system I'm unable to find the similar "RAM" "M395T2953CZ - CE60" "PC2 - 5300F - 555 - 11" but when I check with in the market they told me that we'll give you the "RAM" 2GB - 5300 which has the speed of 667Mhz. If I add that will my system support it? I have a plan of adding 2GB of RAM in 2 Slots and as of not I have 1GB of RAM * 2. So in total it will be 6GB of RAM. Please do help me if I purchase 2GB of 5300 RAM will it support to my "HP XW6400 Workstation".
Also, my "Power Supply" is not working and previously I was using 650V supply. Please help me on the above 2 issues how do I upgrade.
Regards,
Srikanth S V

the xw6400 uses ram that is called FBDimm (Fully Buffered Dual Inline Memory Module =FBDimm) the 667 mhz speed is fine
due to the ram/power supply issue
i most strongly recommend you replace the xw6400 with a HP z400 (rev 2 motherboard not rev 1)
as this system will be around 6x faster
used working z400 systems are about 150.00 on ebay (USA site) just make sure the z400 motherboard has 6 ram slots and not 4 (6 slots = rev 2 board)
