HP Z1 Entry Tower G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

I've been tasked to setup company workstation capable of connecting at least 12 LCD displays. So we've bought HP Z1 Entry Tower G6 workstation and ideally we would like to upgrade this WKS with PNY NVIDIA Quadro NVS 810 graphics card. The issue is however that this WKS does not boot at all with this GPU - I have two cards here, which are working elsewhere (at least when I tried the last time), so that leaves me to believe that these cards are not supported / manufacturer is not whitelisted.

Can anyone confirm that this GPU will not work on this WKS, or does anyone have these cards working on these machines? NVS 810 would be ideal card since it has 8x mini-DP ports on which I can connect 8 displays already and the remaining 4 should be easily daisy chained.

Troubleshooting done so far in attempt to get NVS 810 running:

- Cleared CMOS (several times)

- Tried to move RAM module into another slot (no effect)

- Updated BIOS to the last version (no effect)

- Tried both upper x16 slot and lower x8 slot (had to remove PWR cable to the motherboard on the lower slot; no effect)

When this card is plugged in, computer wont even POST - even when configuring BIOS/UEFI settings where I've set iGPU as primary video card; no dice either.

After that it is that card is either not-supported / whitelisted, or both NVS 810 are damaged. Will try those cards at my personal rigs (again), but i do not believe that the issue lies with cards themselfs at this point.

Thank you in advance for any info which will help me resolve this issue.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode and disable secure boot.

Generally, you have to do that when you add a video card that was not offered as an option for your PC's model series.
