HP Z2 Tower G5 Workstation (9FR65AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi guys,

Any idea why screen flickers on z2 g5 (rtx a2000) when 2 monitors connected? There is no problem with only one monitor.

What I've tried:

Connect only one of monitor with both cables - works fine

Updating gpu drivers - no fix

changing cables when 2 monitors connected - no fix

changing refresh rate (59, 60 and 75 Hz) - no fix

specs: i7 10700, 16gb, 512gb, m2, rtx a2000 6gb

Kind regards,

Nino

Little update:

So, this is new workstation, and it's in use from today.

My my colleague says that this happens when there are some vibrations near the computer (walking and similar).

TO me it looks like it's loose connection (bad cable quality). Can someone recommend what miniDP to HDMI cable to buy? Or miniDP converter...

Hope it gelps.

sounds like the second monitor is picking up electrical interference from either the wall outlet or from the video cord/pwr cable acting like a antenna, or the monitor itself has a issue

best solution is to try a "UPS" or a power conditioner on the power outlet and connect the PC/Monitors to it

everything is connected to UPS 😕

Monitors are from old machine, and I'm pretty sure they are perfectly fine since everything worked OK before...

are these display units LCD screens or monitors? monitors are analog devices, and LCD screens can be either analog or digital for older LCD screens or Full digital for newer LCD panels

as i stated previously analog monitors and analog LCD screens are susceptible to electromagnetic interference

a poor video cable connection can also case picture distortion

Problem solved. At first I bought new mini dp to hdmi cables - they were the culprit 🙂

Now, I've bought mini dp to hdmi adapter and used old hdmi cables and everything works fine 🙂

p.s. I'm using 2x 24" Dell 1080p IPS screens with this z2 ws
