I too experienced the issue with a blank screen being displayed when entering BIOS setup. I actually found the solution on a non-hp website. In my case, the G9 came with an NVIDIA RTX A200 12GM video card. Turns out connecting one of the four on-board Mini Display Ports on the NVIDIA card to the display corrects the issue. Apparently, the BIOS cannot use the onboard full sized Display Ports. It can only output BIOS screen to one of the four on-board Mini Display Ports. A solution would be for HP to document this issue and possibly add an adapter for a Mini Display Port to full sized port. Or at least warn their customers to this fact. I ended up having to order cables separately.
