Hi
After installing a new m.2 C drive I'm having problems connecting external drives.
I clicked through device manager to see an orange warning triangle on 4 of the pci-to-pci bridge 'Standard Sata AHCI Controllers'
In properties it said;
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
I've tried clicking on 'Update Driver' - it says I have the correct driver
Any ideas? I'm not sure if this is Bios or a Windows10 problem
Thanks
Jon

first note the current bios settings, (write down) then do a factory CMOS reset and reboot, if still a issue uninstall the pci to pci bridge device and then tell windows to detect new hardware and it will refind the device and try reloading devices
i can't tell you which ones to disable because i don't know how you use the system or what's connected to it
but if your not using the second ethernet controller disable it, do the same for any other controllers on a one by one basis
IE- disable one device, save and reboot then do the next device

So I tried a cmos reset to no avail. Plugged in my device (a thunderbolt 3 raid) and got the same code 12 problem.
The controller hardware ID is
PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_0612&SUBSYS_10601B21&REV_01
But I can't see any help for that online
I've disabled ethernet devices and other ports I'm not using.
Frustrating problem, not sure what to try next
Hope you have some ideas
thanks
Jon

disable unused devices in the bios, to free up bios space so the addin cards bios will merge with the HP bios
you have limited bios space, and the addin cards bios is exceeding the available space
(assuming the raid card is a working card and not defective)
also check that the card is installed in the correct slot, and that all necessary cabling from the TBolt card to the motherboard is installed
