Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade the current TPM version 1.2 to 2.0.

I've read several procedures to do that but no one of them completed the process.

I've followed the guide of Daniel Engberg https://www.danielengberg.com/hp-tpm-firmware-version-upgrade-from-1-2-to-2-0-tpm-configuration-util... but the HP utility mentioned in the article ( HP Image Assistant (HPIA)) tells that my current version of Windows 10 Pro is not supported (21H2 19044).

How could I upgrade then the TPM version?

Second question: the "Microsoft Windows PC Health Check" reports that the CPU Xeon E5-1620 is not Windows 11 compatible...is that true?

I can't believe that such CPU wouldn't be able to run Windows 11.

Thank you, regards.

Roberto

Hi, Roberto:

I can't help you with the first problem.  This is the only HP documentation I could find regarding TPM updates.

HP Desktops, Notebooks, and Workstations - HP TPM Configuration Utility With Windows 10 Anniversary ...

Regarding the processor not being supported for W11, it is not according to the list released by Microsoft.

Windows processor requirements Windows 11 supported Intel processors | Microsoft Docs

If you want to run W11 on your PC, you will have to use one of the several W11 hardware check bypass methods to do an in-place upgrade to W11.

I found this method to be the easiest way to do that...I've upgraded 11 unsupported Dell and HP PC's to W11 and they all work fine on W11.

Thanks for the prompt reply !

I will try that procedure.

As for the TPM upgrade, the model Z420 is not mentioned on the HP page and the Manufacturer Version (6xx.xxx) for the upgrade is totally different from the current version on my PC (3.17).

Probably it's too old.
