Somehow I must have switched a setting in the BIOS System Settings and now my HPZ420v2 won't allow me to go into System Settings, won't recognize the monitor (light remains yellow, never turns to green), nothing appears on screen. After about 5 minutes the fans begin to accelerate to nearly jet-engine level (just kidding). I am forced to turn it off. I swapped out graphics cards, returning to the original NVIDIA 2 DVI workstation card that the system came with - didn't make a difference. Tried a different monitor, no change, took the 800 Watt PSU out that had been working great and put the original 600 Watt HP PSU. No change in the behavior. Any ideas?

shutdown system remove pwr cord press pwr button for 15 sec
open case and remove cmos battery, and for good measure press yellow cmos reset button for 5 sec
reinstall battery, power cord and power on all settings are now at factory defaults weather you can access the bios screen is another matter
did you by chance enable the "compute" option in the bios? usually doing so will give a 5 beep video error on startup and this is the one setting that can not be reset to disabled buy a bios reset, hint never ever ever enable this option as it will brick your motherboard
