Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All,

I've recently upgraded my faithful Z620 with a 2nd CPU riser board, P/N: 653907-002, along with matching CPU and RAM, and it works beautifully.

My only issue is that my neither my Z620, or riser board, came with the proper PCI slot-cover that has the integrated guide for the riser board (see the collage below).

Although the riser board sits firmly in place, I'd still really like to use the appropriate H/W for securing it in-place.

Can anyone tell me what the P/N is for this item, or better yet - where I can source one?

Thanks!

Ohad.

It looks like you are missing the entire CPU cooling assembly with the hood that force the correct air flow.

This video at 5:25 shows the user locking down the 2nd CPU assembly onto case

You should have obtained an assembly with an air guide.  I was unable to find an air guide looking here

https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/

you could try putting our serial number in the above site and look for it but I suspect any of the following would be cheaper

especially this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/175054659926

Thanks BeemerBiker,

I probably should have mentioned this, but these pictures are ones that I've obtained after scouring the Internet for what the proprietary PCI slot cover should look like (they are not from my personal Z620).

The guy in the video that you've linked to also doesn't actually have the proprietary slot-cover (he's just using a regular slot-cover, which doesn't interface with the rise-board at all).

I do indeed have all the parts needed for a 2 CPU set-up, and it's already functioning properly.

I'm just missing this one part that would serve to stabilize the riser-board from its left-side.

OK,I understand, you want the slot cover that is shown in the photo.

On page 25 it is named as "Second CPU module rear guide bracket"

The HP part number is 670044-001

https://www.google.com/search?q=z620+rear+guide+bracket&oq=z620+rear+guide+bracket

A quick look shows they range from $60 to $411

I would fabricate one using a spare slot cover, thin aluminum stock (or reverse another slot cover) and fiberglass epoxy

Thanks!

I've been toying with the notion of fabricating one.

We'll see how that goes.

If this is a one-off and you are building it just for yourself then simplest is to use a cable tie or two and lock the back edge down.

If you need to drill a hole in the case be sure to remove the motherboard.
