HP Z8 G4 RCTO Base Model Workstation
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I am looking to buy a Legit 2nd CPU & Heatsink cover for my HP Z8 G4.  I have found such parts available on Auction Websites, though the Product Numbers do not show up within HP web site searches, and the Products are mostly sourced from within China! So fake/reliability concerns are troubling me.

Here in Japan, the HP website and support only handles queries in Japanese, and the US based HP Support site, won't help me, because I am in Japan too....  I'm really stuck.

So, how can I purchase a legitimate heatsink cover for a 2nd CPU ?

As an example:

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t783611450
quotes a Part number:   N 460503F00-17J-G
but, this doesn't appear within the HP Parts Catalogue.

I can't find any other source of parts for my Workstation - so what can I do ?

Thanks in advance,

EMIJ

HP items will/can have several part numbers for the exact same item and this is normal

the most common ones are the original HP internal part number and the spare parts number

although other exist such as the warranty "care pack" numbers also the part number can be different for different geolocations

just about everyone will use china for their manufacturing and HP is no different in this regard

if the vender selling the part shows it has a HP part sticker then it most likely is legit although 3rd party clones do exist for some parts they will not have a HP sticker unless the part was deliberty made to deceive which is rare for a part like a heatsink as there is little profit from doing so

i worked for a HP oriented "IT" company and as such worked with many HP products and have ordered some parts from ebay personally and all have been actual HP parts
