Yes, mine is set up like this.

Since there are two Z6 G5's, One with Intel, the other with AMD - (Mine is the Intel "Fury version"). I noticed that the SATA-interfaces in at least my ws is handled by the Intel W790 Chipset, If so, then maybe the issue is related to the Chipset drivers and not the BIOS or the BIOS does not properly communicates with the Chipset drivers...

Updating the System BIOS to version 01.02.29 Rev.A can resolve the issue where the system freezes when a Samsung 860 QVO SSD is installed.

Julius,

Interesting, I checked the HP drivers site and it is still showing 01.02.25 Rev A as the latest system bios for the Z8 G5 (non-Fury version).  Where did you find .29?

Thanks!

I downloaded the new version a week ago, but it has disappeared now. It will probably be uploaded again soon.

Thank you Julius, I will keep an eye out for the updated BIOS!

This is the fifth Z8xx family machine I have purchased over the last 10 years and the first one that has been in any way problematic.  It works wonderfully other than this BIOS/Wolf Security glitch with some drives.

Hi Julius,

The updated BIOS is back on the support site, 1.02.29 Rev A dated October 31.  I  just installed it along with my two 12 TB drives and they are working fine!  Thanks for letting me know that a BIOS update had finally been issued to fix the drive problem.
