The DC5700 has the Intel Q963 chipset
It does not support core 2 quad
Here is a list of processors known (?) to work with q963

but I would rather use the DC5700 spec as the BIOS of the Compaq will recognize those CPUs.
I recall the q965 chipset did the core 2 quad but I might be mistaken.
You could look for a BIOS mod to run faster CPUs than are listed
here is a fix for running the e7400 CPU by our senior expert Paul.

Hi, @Zac000
The best processor you can install is the Pentium E7600 and you have to follow the guidance to get it to work at the full speed using the utility I posted at the link below.

If the guy in this video visited this forum, he could have gotten the E7600 to work.

The PC does not support a standard PCIe x16 graphics card, which is why the graphics card the person installed didn't work.
The only PCIe x16 video card that works in the dc5700 is this kind:
