Just purchased a T430 Tin Client with Win 10 Iot. I'm unable to access any usb device plugged into the machine under the standard user account. I can see the devices listed under the devices section, but they are greyed out. Once I logged in as admin I have full access to the usb drives. Brand new machine, nothing configured, no ports blocked, nothing in the registry or local GPO I see that is blocking access for the standard user account for usb ports.. I need the standard user to have the ability to use a cd-rom or flash drive. Oddly enough if I log into a remote session it maps the local cd-rom drive and the files are accessible there.

this is normal expected behavior, the OS is configured so users do not have "rights" to use the USB ports to change follow directions below
- Login as Administrator with EWF turned Off.
- Go to start and enter gpedit. msc.
- Then navigate to User configuration.
- Select Administrative Templates.
- Select Windows Components.
- Navigate to Windows Explorer.
- Search for and open Prevent access to Drives on my computer.
- Check enable.

this setting can also be set in the bios of some systems but as i recall, the t430 does not have this option

I went through all the normal setting I'm a custom of looking at at they are all set to not configured. Even File explorer is not available under the Windows system folder, so I had to go into control panel just to see the device options

I went through the admin guide and see no mention about the Standard user accounts having limited or no access to usb drives and other windows functions. I also just purchased a T530 and that machine also has the standard user account locked out from accessing local usb drives and such,
