HP z600 + GTX 1080 GPU Power Cable problem

I have an Hp z600 workstation. It includes a gtx 1080 video card. The power supply has been converted to 8 pins with 6 pins and a cheap cable converter. If the video card is loaded, high resolution, for example, will restart the computer for some games. The suspicion is that the conversion cable is not good.

The description states that the Z420, Z440, Z620, Z640, Z820, Z840 and any PSU with 6 Pin PCIe Power Cables. Can I use this for the z600 power supplies then too? Does this solve the restart problems?

the HP GPU adapters are the GOLD STANDARD,....................there's are nothing better and that's why the HP ones are not cheap they use wires with more copper strands than those no name adapters, the metal connectors inside the molex plugs are of a high quality metal that does not distort and cause a bad connection unlike most cheap no name adapters and the wire to metal connection is a low resistance crimped connection and the molex plugs are themselves made of a high quality plastic that is sized to the proper dimensions

last depending on how your system is configured and if your 1080 is a overclocked TI model, then you might be overloading your stock power supply

normal z600, systems not fully loaded (ie single low power cpu)  single HD and a non TI 1080 card might run without any issues, but you will be at the very limit a 1070 card is a much better match for a z600 system

if you still have issues you will need to upgrade the proprietary HP 600 watt supply to a 700 watt (or larger) ATX type power supply and use a adapter (use only name brand QUALITY pwr supplies!!)

I don't have a Ti video card. Just an Asus GTX 1080. Not tuned. Nvidia says a 650W power supply is enough for him. The z600 has a 650W power supply. My question was how can a poor quality cable computer cause a reboot? This factory cable would be a better e for me?

the nvidia power supply recommendation is just that A RECOMMENDATION, not a  guaranteed min/max

that nvidia  generic recommendation is based on CONSUMER SYSTEMS not workstations, if you read the links i provided you would have seen a site that specializes in this workstations model as a gaming system AND THEY DO NOT RECOMMEND a 1080 due to power limits

I have read the recommended page and it does not state that the 1080 video card is not recommended.
NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB graphics card

NVIDIA GTX1660 Ti 6 GB graphics card (takes up 3 PCI slots)

NVIDIA GTX 1070 8GB graphics card = 150W

NVIDIA GTX 1070 TI 8GB graphics card =180W

NVIDIA RTX 2060 6GB graphics card = 160W

NVIDIA RTX 2070 8GB graphics card = 175W

So I don't think they're going to be a problem

You did not answer my question ....
Is the cable that is better on the link? Is your cabling correct? Enable useing HPZ600?
