Swapping the 180w HP PSU for a 400w Aftermarket PSU - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZHWD53W?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
The 7 pin cable on the 180w PSU has all 7 occupied. The new one has only 3 (for pwr I think). (QUESTION 1: Is that fine?)
Everything seems to take the upgrade ok.
Except one weird thing...
On the 180w PSU... Power on, CPU fan RAMPS up for a second and levels with idle speed. Fine.
On the 400w PSU... Power on, CPU fan gradually spins up to idle speed (does not ramp up like it should)
On the 180w PSU... CPU Stress Test, CPU fan reaches 100 speed in about 15 seconds
On the 400w PSU... CPU Stress Test, CPU fan reaches 100 speed in about 30 seconds
I kept the same variables in all tests, temps reached same numbers at same times on both tests. Fan reacts differently
Any idea what is going on and should I be concerned?
