Now your question is better understood.  You are asking about the motherboard that supports the Xeon processors, and wanting to know the maximum number of cores that it theoretically could support rather than the maximum number of cores that HP officially has listed in its QuickSpecs documentation of that for this workstation.  It is true that HP has added HP-certified processors to workstations over the full course of the workstation's manufacturing, and those show up in the QuickSpecs as new ones are added.  Sometimes it takes a BIOS upgrade for those to work.

The thing is.... this is a user's forum.  We are not HP.  To get an answer to your question about HP's future plans please contact HP workstation engineers directly.  They don't come here but you probably can call them.  We have no idea what their plans may be.  Please let us know what you find out...

The answer from the current Z4 G4 QuickSpecs from July of this year is 18 cores in a Xeon.  See page 5 of QuickSpecs v24 from 7/18/20 I downloaded and highlighted for you, attached below.

read the list of supported CPU's in the HP "quickspecs" document for your model

IE-google "HP z6 z4 quickspecs"

https://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c05527761

note that there are two different motherboards for this model workstation, a core i7 and a xeon one

you cannot install core i7 on a xeon model and a xeon model will not take core i7 cpu's

I need to know how much max cores supports HP z6 z4 xeon motherboard.

Why there not listed Xeon Phi cpu support width 75 cores ? I seen hp motherboard who support xeon phi cpu but not remember if this is the one who supports 75 cores.

the Intel Xeon Phi line is/was a addin CoProcessor card it is not a drop in cpu like the xeon/i7 cpu's and has been mostly discontinued by intel

You wrong, because i have lga 3647 Xeon Phi 7290 who fits HP Z6 g4 xeon motherboard.

My question stays the same how much maximum cores supports this motherboard.

You have no idea how much maximum cores it supports. I hoped more from the community who use HP products. Means you have no clue on what you writing about.

Question simple. If you using this product you should know max cores supported number in XX by this motherboard.

as i stated the intel Phi line has mostly been discontinued simply because you have a 7290 card does not mean that you can still buy one new unless the seller still has old unsold stock

here's the intel web page on the 7290 card,...note the DISCONTINUED line
