Workstations are meant to be upgraded and this HP practise of locking everything down as if everyone is a 5 year old kid is just absurd. A PC where one cannot properly configure memory settings is simply disfunctional and should be returned for a refund.

Don't be ridiculous - with the number of HP Pro 6300s on the secondary market, it is quite obvious they are NOT being upgraded. I paid less than $20 each for a lot a while back.
These are also OEMs. Very few of the OEMs release systems with unlocked BIOS, because support could be a nightmare in that case.
If you want a BIOS that you can fully play with, you generally buy a 3rd party MB and build one from scratch. People who like to futz with every last BIOS setting rarely buy an OEM system, unless it is one that someone else has built a custom BIOS for.
