My laptop screen will not turn on and I have tried to hook it up to another monitor and a Tv and it still will not work I’ve tried the safe key and still will not work and really need it work because I use this all the time for my school

does the power light on the charger/adapter come on?

 

does the power light on the laptop come on

 

that's all i can recomend since you have not listed the FULL model number of your laptop

 

i recomend you take it to a repair shop and have them look at it

Any indication of a fan starting up for instance?

This works for most HP Laptops (and some Desktops)...

To perform a power reset on a laptop with a sealed or non-removable battery:
Turn off the computer.
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
For most laptops, press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to reset.
