BIOS version 1.18 is currently installed. and have the 1.46 update file on a flash drive and on a CD.  However the BIOS flash section of the F10 setup menu only lets me select  floppy disk A: (which I don't have installed). .  How can I flash from one of the other devices?  Will I need make a flash drive DOS-bootable?  I'd much prefer to do this directly from the setup menu and just the BIN file.

I'm prepping the workstation for a second party who plans to install Linux.

create a bootable usb key using  "rufus"  copy all of the files in the bios update  DOS folder onto the usb key

now boot from the usb key, (which will now become device "A" as i recall) and run the updater bat file

if you read the included files that ship with the bios update this method and the CDROM method of updating are covered
