I have HP B350 83E7 Motherboard. Upgrade to AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Processor AM4. Is it compatible?

Your HP EliteDesk 705 G4 Microtower PC does not support the Ryzen 5 2600 or Ryzen 7 2700 processor.

You need to have a 705 G4 with the 8460 motherboard ID.

while i trust paul's reply i did however come across this link that says the 2400G (not the 2600G) is compatible in the HP 83E7 (Microtower) motherboard it appears that HP has several completely different systems with almost the same name differing only in the last few chars 

per the HP quickspecs

and this link says the ryzen 5 2400G with embedded graphics is compatible with the Microtower motherboard

i haven't worked on this model series so i have no idea either way if the information i've provided is correct?

The Geekbench link for the HP EliteDesk 705 G4 MT (with motherboard SSID: 83E7) pertains to a Ryzen 5 PRO 2400G.

yes i know HP only shows a 2400G not a 2600G but it may be that HP never validated the 2600G in this motherboard which is why i was asking . i erroneously listed 2600G instead of 2400G in my first post on this subject which i have corrected

on a normal board i would say it would work but these customised highly integrated AMD boards with a OEM bios..................it may well be that they won't work
