Hello, We have a bunch of T530 thin clients we got back from our remote stores/offices, and I'm trying to find a good way to re-image all of them with a stock image
I have a stock image loaded in HPDM (version 5.0) as a task I can send, problem is most of these thin clients are configured with a static IP which matches the network scheme of their original location, which means I would have to login to each of them as the local admin and change them to DHCP because otherwise they wont be able to communicate with the HPDM server
So I was wondering if its somehow possible to send the image to them from HPDM and have the TC process it before it boots into windows and it applies the static IP address (I assume thats how it works). That way I can have 20 of them plugged into a switch and just send the image task to all them at once, saving a lot of time.
If thats not possible, any other ideas for quickly imaging these thin clients?

i'm not aware of a "EASY" way to apply static ip settings to specific systems using a imaging method
you might be able to do this at the router level by using each systems mac address to apply a specific IP address to each system ,...this way the main image can be set to DHCP, and as each client system comes online it will be assigned the correct ip address from the router

Its more like the opposite. The TC already is assigned the static IP when it was installed at the remote location, I want to remove it because otherwise it wont connect to HPDM at the main office here, or find a way to around it so I dont have to manually login to 50 thin clients and set them to DHCP

you again could write a script that queries the client's ip address, and then sets a DHCP on it and once done increments to the next ip address but again doing this and debugging it seems like it's not worth the time for just 50 systems
we never do a hard static ip on clients (only servers/routers) everything else gets DHCP and is assigned a specific ip
(only if necessary) via the router or server using the clients mac address
good luck in hopefully finding a solution you like..................
