Hello.
I am trying to upgrade the BIOS/firmware of my 705 G5 to latest R26 release 02.22.00.
Since I don't have access to a Windows computer, I can't use the sp157499.exe file. Instead, I use the Network BIOS Update functionality in the EFI menu. It has worked fine with previous f/w versions.
However, it seems that it downloads a wrong or corrupted file from the HP server (Akamai CDN) and gives the error "Failure while flashing BIOS image (failed image signature verification or image is incompatible)" each time I attempt upgrading.
I did a packet capture (using tcpdump and wireshark) on my firewall to figure out which file it downloads, and the file it downloads is:
https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/pcbios/8619/R26_022200.bin
I downloaded this file from Linux multiple times from different machines in different countries, using both IPv4 and IPv6 connection, and HTTP/HTTPS, and it seems I always get the same file with MD5 sum 8315cf523af76ed74459eada9d145235. This is the same file I see saved as EFI/HP/DEFW/Firmware.BIN after each attempt.
Can somebody verify that this is the correct firmware image, or if not, how can I obtain it (without using Windows)?
