Hello,

Does anyone know why DisplayPort on HP Pro SFF 400 G9 allows me to display an image at 1920x1080 at 100Hz, but the HDMI port at the same resolution only at 60Hz?
According to the specifications, the HDMI port is 1.4b. But I connected the same monitor and cable to another computer with an external graphics card and I get 100Hz without any problem, so it’s not the fault of the cable or the monitor, it all comes down to the HDMI port on this model.

@Ellrick007,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

The HDMI port on your HP Pro SFF 400 G9 is likely not to blame. Please check the "Preset display modes" of your particular monitor, because some monitors restrict the 1920x1080 HDMI 1.4 input signal to 60Hz.

For example:

In addition, there's the resolution and refresh rate trade-off: Higher resolutions require more bandwidth. As a result, HDMI 1.4 prioritizes resolution over refresh rate. For monitors with higher resolutions, manufacturers often limit the refresh rate to 60Hz to fit within the available bandwidth.

Kind Regards,
