Hi all
I have recently picked up a Z6 G4 Workstation and installed a HP Z Turbo Drive Quad Pro but unable to locate the HDDACT_IN on the motherboard for the led cable. I have searched all documentation for the Z6 and the Z Turbo Drive but can't find a schematic that shows the location.
I would be very grateful if anyone could assist please?
Thanks in advance.

For some reason HP stopped putting a diagram in the technical and service manuals more recently. The best place to look that always seems to work is inside your workstation. Specifically on the labels associated with the motherboard layout on the inside of the side cover you can open. Below is an example from a Z840, and you should be able to find it easily now inside your Z6 G4... if you can please take a cell phone pic of the diagram and the actual 2-pin header on your motherboard and post it here to help others in the future.
By the way, don't worry about LED polarization for the cable and the headers... HP engineers figured out how to make things work whatever end is where and whether the cable plug ends are right side up or wrong side up. Any way works fine.
Pretty easy to find once you know how...

That wasn't so long ago... thanks. Below is the highlighted version of your motherboard's diagram showing where to plug in the Z Turbo Drive drive activity cable to your motherboard.
I've posted here on the fact that you can piggy-back the drive activity from multiple Z Turbo Drives if you know that some have an activity-in plus an activity-out header included. I'll tell you that when you have two NVMe M.2 SSDs in a HP Z Turbo Drive Dual Pro running plus another one going simultaneously in a Z Turbo Drive G2 you get quite the light show from the single tiny front drive activity LED in the ZX40/G4/G5 generations of workstations. Thankfully those LEDs now are lower lumen output than before!
2-pin drive activity header location...
