Sorry for the stupid question.  I'm obviously not a hardware expert.

I'm running an MSA60 through a P800 controller.

Can someone tell me whether the 2TB drive size restriction is because of the MSA60 or is it because of the P800 controller.

 

basically, if I swap the P800 controller to something newer will I be able to use larger drives with the MSA60?

 

I appreciate any response you might provide.

HP split into 2 companies a good number of years ago and the HP Enterprise forums is where you could best ask this. They cover enterprise hardware such as servers and storage arrays with much higher expertise available for you. Try this:
