Hi @1N1451015R

If your HP Pro Tower 280 G9 PCI Desktop PC is not powering on, you can follow these steps to identify and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Check Power Connection:

    • Ensure that your power cable is securely plugged into the back of the desktop and the power outlet.
    • Try using a different power outlet if possible.
  2. Inspect Power Cord and Power Supply:

    • Confirm that the power cord is not damaged. If you suspect damage, use a different compatible power cord.
    • Check if the power supply unit (PSU) has a switch and ensure it is turned on.
    • If your PSU has a voltage selector switch, make sure it is set to the correct voltage for your region.
  3. Perform a Hard Reset:

    • Unplug the power cord from the desktop.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
    • Reconnect the power cord and attempt to power on the PC.
  4. Check for Indicator Lights or Beeps:

    • Look for any LED indicators or listen for beep codes when attempting to power on the PC. These can help diagnose specific hardware issues.
    • Refer to your user manual for information on beep codes or indicator lights specific to your model.
  5. Test with Minimal Hardware:

    • Disconnect all peripherals such as external drives, printers, and USB devices, leaving only the monitor connected.
    • Try powering on the system with minimal hardware to see if it will start.

  6. Do CMOS Reset and Bios Recovery : Detailed steps how to perform bios and cmos reset  https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_3932413-2337994-16

Hope this helps in isolating your issue
