Hi,

I get two new DDR4 ECC Dim  installed on my HP Z8 G4

At initialization time I get the following warning displayed, and those 2 dimms are just ignored.

01/30/2025 10:51 Warning 7-12 occurred on CPU1-DIMM3 during memory initialization.
01/30/2025 10:51 Warning 7-12 occurred on CPU0-DIMM3 during memory initialization.

I guess this is probably incompatibility although those were said compatible by the vendor.
Fyi, I tried to remove all Dims, keeping only those 2 dimms with no successful boot this time (since no avail. memory I guess )

The new memory dimm used is this one :

MTA36ASF8G72PZ-2G9 - Micron 1x 64GB DDR4-2933 RDIMM PC4-23466U-R Dual Rank x4 Module

Any Help, or information.  Can't find a table where such 7-12 warning is documented.

Thanks all for your help !

Didier

It seems the issue is related to the CPU -- My CPU is Xeon first Gen, and this generation supports only 64 GB LRDIMM  .... I should have ordered 32 GB RDIMM   ( to match the RDIMM already present on the board ). Other solution is to upgrade the 2 procs to get second generation.
