Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hello,

I would like  some help understanding the various connections (after having done a lot of research still a few ??).

1) My current laptop only has a USB 3.1 type C so if I want to use the type C display port alt mode on the monitor for all connections (display, webcam, charge) do I need to get a adaptor of some sort? Also to double check this connection will operate the webcam without an extra connection needed

2) if I decide to use just the HDMI or DisplayPort connection, will I also need to use the Type B upstream connection for the webcam (can I confirm the type B upstream connection would be needed whether you use HDMI or DisplayPort)?

The manual is really not clear. Thank you for your help as this will dictate whether I get the e243d or just 243m.

display port is just a video only standard, as such it only supports audio/video devices.

one of its features is daisy chaining video displays it's not ment or compatible with other device formats

USB 3.1 is a 5MBps data xfer rate (Gen1) or 10MBps (Gen2) and is a general purpose data transmission protocol however it's a SHARED BANDWIDTH, so it can suffer in throughput if you attach 2 or more high bandwidth devices

if you only have one usb c port then you will need a POWERED usb 3.1 Hub  like the ones below

usb only

multi port (READ SPECS CAREFULLY!!!) there are limitations with supported video standards/resolutions
