Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi and thanks in advance for any help! '-)

Need to install a 2nd drive specifically for often large video and audio files.

It would merely act as a dumping/storage area for same.

I've been told it's not that hard to do but wanted to check with some HP Pros prior-to attempting same.

I'd most likely get something like a WD Black, 3.5 7200 SATA but not locked into same.

Hopefully someone knows my Workstation listed above and could provide some

tips and the steps required. I've tried searching online but get conflicting details.

Again, any help most appreciated!

Thanks, Bob

According to the support page

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03364712

that PC has 3 internal 3.5-inch bays, so it should be easy to add another drive.

Here is the support manual

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04205252

It indicates there are 4 SATA ports and the second hard drive should use the SATA 1 port, which is typical, with the primary hard drive on SATA 0
